Dear Abby: What is the proper title for your mother’s third husband? I know her second husband is my stepfather but am curious what the third is called.

Dear Name Dropper: Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines “stepfather” as “the husband of one’s mother when distinct from one’s natural or legal father.” He could also be referred to as your mother’s husband, or simply by his given name.
Ask an Asshole reply: I can sum this up in one word… Sucker! Who gives a shit? Your mother is showing a pattern with two divorces already, how long is this guy going to actually be in the picture? Call him by his given name and leave it at that.
