Should I get back to my roots of writing?

When I first started writing this blog, I was incorporating stories that were real life experiences from when I was young and stupid. Young and stupid, we’ve all been there. This is the time in my life where the title and concept of ”Inside the mind of an idiot” was born, had I come up with this idea later in life, I would have titled the blog “Inside the mind of an asshole”.

I’ve kind of gotten away from the accounts of my younger drunken self… Well, mainly because many of the details of these tales were lost in drunken stupors. Below  is something I started putting together but had failed to finish, remember it is only the start of a rough draft where I was brainstorming. I want your feedback. Is this something you’d want to read about? Should I go on to finish this story and or tell other tales of moronic behavior and debauchery? It is almost as if I would be going back to my roots if we decide to go this route. Again, give me your thoughts on this! Leave a comment below, hit me up on twitter (@Mkriegbaumjr) or email me (Manifesto.Idiot@gmail.com)! Here is the start of a draft I hand mentioned above.

Oh the glory days that was the late 1990’s. My friends and I were “Bar Stars” the people everyone wanted to drink with and be seen with in some of the local establishments in the Buffalo area. We knew anyone that was anyone in the club scene. It was like being a politician of sorts; shaking hands, kissing the ladies… it was networking, before networking was the “in” thing to do. You might ask why anyone would be so eager to drink with a bunch of obnoxious assholes like us. The answer to that was the now defunct BuffaloThong.com! An idea that started out as a joke became BuffaloThong.com… which was one of the craziest, exciting, pleasurable and most draining periods of my life. It is actually amazing that I escaped this era disease and arrest free. Yes, it is true, this blog of mine is not my first stab at internet entertainment…

When you are in your early twenties as a male, a good deal of us have our heads up our asses and our only care in the world is finding out where the next party is, and making sure you have enough cash for getting drunk. I was no different… partying was a lifestyle at this time of my life. I was out drinking 4 – 6 nights a week. Looking back on these days, I practically cringe thinking about how many tens of thousands of dollars I pissed away getting shitfaced.  Was all of that cash squandered? Maybe… But the memories that I have taken away from all of the wasted years and dollars are absolutely priceless. If I had the opportunity to go back and change this portion of my life, would I? It’s possible, as I am looking back on these times as I am older and much wiser. We all know that we cannot actually go back and change the past, so fuck it! I am going to embrace the fun that was had and write about it!

The late 90’s were a time  MTV’s Spring Break was THE thing to watch, “wet t-shirt” and other skin flashing contents were beginning to peak. ‘Girls Gone Wild’ was in its inception period and virtually unheard of and even though was seen on an infomercial, was basically the only soft core porn that was available on television unless you or your parents were subscribed to Cinemax. Let’s be honest, this part of the decade included much more that this… but I think you can see which direction this part of my life and this story is headed.

I was an idiot at this time in my life, and actually this is the time where the title “The Manifesto: Inside the Mind of an Idiot” was born and eventually became the title of my blog. At that time, I had dreams of writing my theories and thoughts of lunacy down and writing a book, thus where the idea of the title had developed. Since then, other authors had mastered that genre, thus became a hobby that is my blog. But, there were other moments of drunken madness with my group of friends, one particular idea led to the genius that had eventually become Buffalo Thong.
